Why did you want to do the TAA/TAE Cert IV?

As a visual artist I am wanting to run my own art classes. I felt that this course would give me methods and structure to deliver my classes as well as inform me of what I may have to look out for regarding OHS. I also may return to work as a teacher aide in schools where having this qualification may enable me to assist in the VET of school students. I also enjoy learning new things and continually striving to improve myself.

Why did you choose to do the TAE with Fortress Learning?

I researched the internet for suitable RTO’s and was attracted to Fortress because it offered an online course at a reasonable fee and I could work my lifestyle around it as it was a self-paced course.

How long did it take you to do it?

5 months

Did you do the full course, RPL, or a combination?

A combination.

How painful was the RPL process?

The RPL process was very straight forward. After informing Bryan of my past experience (educational and work) he requested supporting evidence and then tailored my course to suit.

What worked for you?

I like the task process for each unit. It was encouraging to work methodically through a unit of tasks; submit them; receive feedback a satisfactory and then move on to the next set of tasks. Seeing the list of completed tasks on my dashboard was also encouraging.

What didn’t work for you?

I didn’t do my project as I went through the course so when I did do it I had to search through my past task units and wiki pages to find information I needed.

What advice would you give to others considering studying this course in this way?

Work through your tasks in a methodical way and don’t hesitate to ask questions if something is not quite clear to you.

Is there anything else you’d like to include?

I found Bryan and the staff at Fortress to be very professional. I feel very satisfied to have achieved this qualification. Thankyou Fortress Learning!
