CAN I GET RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING? DO I GET A DISCOUNT?
All students are eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), and information about this is provided both in our Student Handbook and once you have enrolled.
There is no further discount for students wanting to apply for RPL as part of our distance and online programs. For us, RPL is just as – if not more – time consuming as the full course.
For the Training & Assessment Pathway, there is a place on the Enrolment Form to indicate that you are interested in RPL, and the Personal Learning Plan Survey that we ask you to complete before beginning will give you the chance to tell us more about the sorts of things that we might be able to “recognise”.
For the Assessment Only Pathway, we provide details of how to develop your own Personal Learning Plan for your chosen course, and step-by-step instructions on how to go about applying for RPL. There is also the opportunity to have us do this for you, at a modest additional cost.
Your Personal Learning Plan
No two people are the same.
For us, making you jump through the same hoops as everyone else just doesn’t make sense.
That’s why we collect a bit more information from you before you enrol, and use it to tailor your own Personal Learning Plan.
Your Personal Learning Plan becomes your unique roadmap for how you can make your way through the course. It reflects your unique set of knowledge and skills, and uses your preferred learning style as a basis for how things are done.
When we develop your Personal Learning Plan, we work out three things:
- Where you might be eligible for RPL (which units and which parts of units)
- What specific combination of evidence you will need to provide to support a claim for RPL
- Which coursework you will need to do to fill in any gaps that remain
