Notes:

Payment Schedule:

For TAE programs whose fee is more than $1500: $1000 is payable on enrolment and then a further $1000 is payable each 90 days with the final payment adjusted as required to reflect your program’s cost.

Example:  Sam enrols in 6 month Dual Dip VET/TDD.  Fee is $2400.  Sam has one unit via credit transfer.  Total fee is $2400 – $200 (for the Credit Transfer unit) = $2200.  Sam’s payments are:

On enrolment: $1000

After 90 Days:  $1000

After another 90 Days:  $200

Payment plans:

  • available for all programs – $300 per month until fee has been paid, or balance payable at graduation.

Credit Transfer:

  • rebate of $200 per unit awarded via Credit Transfer, applied to the final course payment.

Refunds:

  • In the event of withdrawal, a refund will be paid based on the number of days remaining at the date the completed Withdrawal Form is received and applying the daily cost to that.  Daily cost is calculated by dividing total course fee by duration of program in days.  The daily cost, as at 1 August 2019, is shown in the table above..

When do you invoice me?

Yes, but not straight away.

You enrol, and then we will send you a Fee Proposal.  Once you have clicked the link to accept it, an invoice will be sent.

If you are wanting to get things going a bit quicker, you can pay once you received the Proposal and then we will send an Invoice.

Your courses seem shorter than many others - why is that?

We are very fortunate that our students are highly motivated and want to get things done.  Also, Fortress Learning students do not need to pay for such long course durations because we do not keep them waiting for weeks/months to get questions answered, calls returned and marking assessed.

We decide our program durations based not on how long we think it will take people, but how long we know it takes.  If you look at the following two graphs, you will see that most people complete in less than 6 months and certainly very few require 12 or more.

6 TAE50116 TAE50216 Durations

So, rather than locking you into a duration beyond what you need, you can enrol for an initial 6 month period and then only pay for the additional month/s that you need to complete, if any.

Can I pay it all upfront?

It will depend on who is paying the fees.

If you are paying for yourself, then we cannot accept more than $1500 upfront.  If you are being paid for by your employer, then they can pay the whole amount upfront.

My employer is paying - how do I organise that?

There is a place on the Enrolment Form where you can tell us where you want the invoice to be sent, and we will send it to both you and them.

If your employer prefers to use Purchase Orders, then give us a call and we can provide the details for doing that instead.

Does RPL cost less? Why don't you have separate RPL Only programs?

Our fees are based on the time you take.  If you are doing some of your course by RPL, then you can expect it to take you less time, which in turn will cost you less than if you were to complete a full program of coursework learning and assessment.

Experience tells us that most people seeking RPL still require considerable support with the process, and they usually have gaps that need to be attended to which can makes the fees all very murky.  We prefer to make it clear for you from the outset.

Can I do a payment plan - how do I organise that?

For full qualifications, payment plans are available and you will be able to select that on the Enrolment Form.  Once we have your Enrolment Form, we will let you know how to get it set up.

Why do you only take $1000 upfront?

Because our students have told us that they would prefer simple payment structures:  an even number at even time intervals is pretty easy for everyone.

We also think it is fairer this way.

What if I finish early - do I have to wait to graduate?

If you get everything for your course done before your end date, we will send you a final account and once that is paid, you will be able to graduate and receive your new Fortress Learning certificate/s.

Your final account will be the difference between what you have paid and what your program fee is once things like the course fee plus or minus any other adjustments that need to be made based on your program.

What if I graduate early - can I get a refund?

There are no discounts or refunds that apply when you finish early.

How does that work with the Daily Rate if I have used less days?

The Daily Rate is based on the cost of delivering the whole course over a particular period of time.  We know what it costs us to deliver a course over, say 6 months, and we also know that someone who finishes that 6 month course in 3 months is likely going to have caused us higher daily costs for each of those three months.  That’s why we still require the full fee to be paid.

What if I withdraw - can I get a refund?

If you withdraw prior to your official date, then you will be able to request a refund.

You will only ever be charge for the time you have been enrolled. Refunds will be calculated based on multiplying the days remaining by the the daily rate, as shown in the Course Fees table.

I am having trouble financially - what should I do?

We understand that the winds of change sometimes turn against us.   If you suspect you might have trouble meeting your payment obligations, then the best thing to do is to pick up the phone and let us know and we can see if there is a way to help.
