TAE Upgrade Options Table

About the Program

The following diagram will help you work out which Upgrade Option is best for you.  Options 1, 2 and 3 are for a single Diploma.  Options 4 and 5 are for the Dual Diploma.

Upgrading means that you are recognised for the current skills and knowledge that you have, based on the combination of earlier qualifications you have completed and experience you have gained since then.

Because of the way that Training Packages are constructed, the units from the older TAE Diplomas generally remain equivalent to the units from the newest TAE Diplomas.

That means that we can provide credit for those equivalent units toward the most up to date qualification available.

Would you like to see where you are at?

Experience tells us that a lot of people don’t actually know whether they are eligible for an Upgrade and what would be involved.

For that reason, we invite you to send Bryan copies of your results – or just a list of the units completed and he will let you know where you stand.  You can email Bryan at [email protected] – he’ll be the one looking after you when you enrol, so feel free to tell him anything else you think is important.

It’s all part of helping you make an informed decision.

.

The Diploma Upgrade Program is specifically for people who possess equivalent units of competency from earlier qualifications, combined with relevant recent experience.

Once enrolled, we will confirm your suitability for the Upgrade program and develop your Personal Learning Plan which outlines which of the following you will need to provide:

  1. evidence of completing earlier units
  2. if those units were completed more than 2 years ago, evidence of currency in those units
  3. if needed, how you will complete TAELLN501

Once you have enrolled, we will walk you through these requirements and create a plan that allows you to move forward efficiently.

Upgrade Programs:  How long you will need will depend on whether you also need to complete TAELLN501.

  • If you need to complete TAELLN501, then your enrolment to be 3 months.
  • If you already have TAELLN501, then your enrolment will be 1 months

The fee will depend on whether you are seeking a Single or Dual Diploma, whether you have already completed LLN501, and whether you are also upgrading your Cert IV TAE with us.

If you are Upgrading both your Cert IV and Dip VET, you will receive the Certificate IV Upgrade at half price.

Notes:

A description of each Option is available in that image near the top of the page.

The above fees are based on the assumption that all or all but one of the units will be awarded via Credit Transfer.  In the event that you are unable to provide satisfactory evidence of having completed one or more units, we will provide you with a quote to engage in our RPL process.

It’s one thing to think about taking the next step to secure your future. It is another to actually go and do it.

When you are ready to take control of the direction your life takes, then we invite you to join us.

Our enrolment process involves four steps, as shown below.

Case Studies - Upgrades in Action

Where was Gary at?

Gary has completed the TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design & Development in 2017.  As part of that, he also completed TAELLN501B

What did Gary do?

Because he had already attained the latest TAE50216 Dip TDD, and had completed TAELLN501B as part of his TAE50111 Dip VET, Gary was in a good place to attain the new TAE50116 Dip VET.  Gary

  • enrolled into Upgrade Option 5
  • provided certified copies of his qualifications
  • graduated within a month

What were the fees?

Total fee:  $600

Where was Sally at?

Sally has completed the TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education in 2015.  As part of that, she didn’t realise but she also completed the same units that are needed for the TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design & Development.  She did not do TAELLN501B, however.

What did Sally do?

Sally wanted to attain the Dual TAE50116/TAE50216 Dip VET/TDD, so she:

  • enrolled into Upgrade Option
  • provided certified copies of her qualifications
  • completed TAELLN501
  • graduated within 3 months

What were the fees?

Total fee:  $1150

Where was Larry at?

Gary had started Dual Diploma TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design & Development in 2013, and completed 8 units.  He had a Statement of Attainment that showed those units.

What did Larry do?

Because he had not completed one of the previous qualifications, Larry was not eligible for the Upgrade program.  Instead, he:

  • enrolled to complete the 2 single units that remained so that he met the requirements of the Dip VET
  • then he enrolled in Upgrade Option 4

What were the fees?

Total fee:  this was negotiated directly with Larry based on his situation.  We can do the same for you.
